Projects description

Khan Tau Minerals

The Chu-Ili Ore Belt (23 Projects)

Location: The Chu-Ili Ore Belt is located in the Moiynkoum District of the Zhambyl Oblast of the Republic of Kazakhstan, south-west of the Lake Balkhash.

Surface Area: The Chu-Ili Ore Belt stretches for 150 km.
The Chu-Ili Ore Belt is a unique cluster, within which as many as 23 promising occurrences of gold were identified. These occurrences are divided into three genetic groups: the Moukatai-Khantau Group, the Maitokken-Ushkoudouk Group, and the Berik-Karatas Group.

Geology: By their genesis and taking into account the geological conditions of the area, the ores from the occurrences are identical to the ores from the Kokpar , Tarlanat-Petrovskiy, Ashek, Karatas etc. deposits; therefore, it can be expected with great confidence that both milling-quality ores with high gold content and the ores suitable for gold recovery by means of heap/agitation leaching, occur there.

Production: Test mining licenses for all properties of the Chu-Ili Ore Belt are in place. The licenses allow their holders to recover up to 30% of the reserves in the process of geological exploration.

Inferred Resources under the C2 Category
Gold: 2 tons (average gold content 30 g/t)
Prognostic Reserves under the P1+P2 Categories
Gold: 150 tons ((average gold content 7 g/t)

Mynaral Resources and Mynaral Gold

Mynaral 1, Mynaral 2

Location: The Mynaral Ore Field is located in the Zhambyl Oblast of the Republic of Kazakhstan, close to Lake Balkhash, within the territory of the currently decommissioned Sary Shagan Military Testing Ground. In the Soviet times, the Sary Shagan Military Testing Ground has occupied 81,200 sq. km. In terms of financial costs, it was the largest project of the kind in the USSR. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, a part of the site was returned to Kazakhstan. Currently, it is an area with huge geological exploration potential, because in the Soviet times, the territory has not been studied in geological terms.

Surface Area: 151.18 sq km.
Infrastructure: A highway of national significance runs through the licensed area. A railroad, sources of water and electricity are available in the vicinity of the Field.

Geology: The total length of the ore zones is 18 km, 43 promising occurrences of gold and silver has been revealed. The depth distribution of the resources is 600 m or more. In 2016, in 2 months, on the Aktobe site with an area of 50 m by 100 m and 200 m in depth, at least 5 t of gold were explored with average content more than 2.5 g/t.. At depths of up to 100 m the horizon of rich ores has been revealed with average content more than 200 g/t. The total resources of this horizon estimated at around 1 ton.

Production: Within the period from 1994 to 2004, the ABS Balkhash Company has produced 35 tons of gold only from the Mynaral Deposit located within the license area.

* The reserves are proved by the results of drilling and on the basis of the analyses that were conducted by the analytical laboratory “Alex Stuart”. Currently, the geological consulting company “Behre Dolbear”, USA, is working on the conversion of reserves according to the international standards JORC.

Reserves under the C2 Category:
Gold: 5 tons (average gold content 2.5 g/t)
Silver: 228 tons (average content 114 g/t)

Inferred Resources under the P1+P2 Categories:
Gold: 450 tons (average gold content 7 g/t)

CGCS

The Shoiymbai Exploration Area

Location: The Shoiymbai Exploration Area is located in the Zhana Arka District of the Karaganda Oblast, 150 km southwest of the City of Karaganda.

Surface Area: 39 sq. km.

Infrastructure: The Zhana Arka Railway Station is located 50 km from the Shoiymbai Exploration Area.

Geology: Quartz-vein, metasomatic and low-sulfide. 24 ore bodies with the gold content exceeding 2 g/t ,were revealed in the area. Prognostic resources of the ten most prospective ore bodies at depths ranging from 30 m to 200 m, were estimated at 3 424 kg, with an average gold content of 6 g/t. The ore reserves occur at relatively small depths, thus allowing open pit mining, and the occurrence of the smaller ore bodies along the strike within the nucleus of an anticline structure with the width of up to 800 m allows to use a single quarry with sufficiently low dilution, despite the small thickness of the ore bodies. Out of the 30 quartz veins in the area only six underwent a study, other occurrences along with the metasomatic zones are considered to be potential areas for reserves growth.
In 2016, 10 wells were drilled during the field works with the total volume of 2000 rm, 5500 m3 of 48 trenches were covered. Based on the results of completed operations and geological reports about 3.4 tones of gold can be confirmed under C2 category. The forecast under the P1 category estimated up to 30 tons.
